Klondike is the solitaire game most people picture when they hear the word: seven tableau columns, a stock pile, four foundations from Ace to King. Not every deal can be won: a solver that sees every card can win about 90% of Draw 1 deals and about 82% of Draw 3 deals (Blake & Gent, 2026). Our version runs a solver in your browser that tells you whether your current position has a winning path — so you stop wasting time on impossible games. Play free on phone, tablet, or computer. Once the page loads, the game keeps working without internet.
Goal: Move all 52 cards to the four foundations, building each suit up from Ace to King.
The two modes use the same deal and the same rules. They differ in how you reach the stock pile, and that changes how many deals can be won.
| Aspect | Draw 1 | Draw 3 |
|---|---|---|
| Stock draw | One card at a time | Three cards; only the top is playable |
| Solver: winnable deals | ~90% | ~82% |

The solver sees every card; players do not. In August 2026, TrySolitaire players won 35.3% of the Draw 1 games they started and 15.5% of the Draw 3 games, counting games they left unfinished as not won (August 2026 player report).
The gap between the modes comes from access. In Draw 3, useful cards often land in the middle of a triplet and stay buried unless you cycle the whole stock again. Same deal, harder to reach.
Some Klondike deals cannot be won no matter how well you play. Without a solver you can spend ten minutes on a doomed game without knowing. Our solver runs entirely in your browser as a Web Worker — your moves never leave your device — and tells you in real time whether the current position still has a winning path.
A gold ring marks the card to move and a blue ring marks where it goes. A faint copy and an arrow show where it lands, and one sentence says why the move helps. Tap the ringed card to play it. A hint costs no points. When its search proves that no win is left, the hint says so and opens the recovery panel.
This Klondike runs in your browser — free, no download, no sign-up. Install it as an app on your phone or computer and it works without internet. The browser-side solver, hints that follow it, Deal Winnable, unlimited undo, daily challenge, and Draw 1 / Draw 3 toggle are all part of the standard build. On a phone or tablet, the Hand button moves the stock to the right, within reach of your right thumb. Tap it again to put the stock back on the left.

No. A solver that sees every card can win about 90% of Draw 1 deals and about 82% of Draw 3 deals (Blake & Gent, 2026); the rest cannot be won from the moment the cards are dealt. Players, who cannot see the face-down cards, win far fewer: in August 2026, TrySolitaire players won 35.3% of the Draw 1 games they started and 15.5% of the Draw 3 games, counting unfinished games as not won. Our solver tells you in real time whether your current position still has a solution.
Both modes use the same deals and the same rules. Draw 1 flips one card at a time from the stock; Draw 3 flips three but lets you play only the top. The Draw 3 access pattern buries useful cards, so fewer deals can be won: a solver that sees every card wins about 90% of Draw 1 deals but about 82% of Draw 3 deals (Blake & Gent, 2026).
It runs in your browser as a Web Worker, so no game data leaves your device. It searches the legal moves from your current position: green means a winning path exists, red means none, and red comes with recovery options. It also drives the Hint button, which shows the next move of a winning line.
Yes. Pick "Deal Winnable" in the new-game menu and the solver chooses a seed with a known solution before dealing. Available in both Draw 1 and Draw 3. You'll never spend time on a deal that was doomed before your first move.
When the solver proves that no winning path remains, the icon turns red. Click it, and a recovery panel offers Undo to Last Winnable, Undo Last Move, Play Again and Deal Winnable. Hint opens the same panel when its own search proves the loss. Undo to Last Winnable lets you try another line without losing your progress.
