Introduction
At TrySolitaire, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our collection of solitaire and puzzle games. TrySolitaire offers both local-only gameplay (no account required) and optional cloud-synced features (requires account).
Information We Collect
Without an Account (Local Storage Only)
If you play without creating an account, we store the following information locally on your device:
- Game statistics - Games played, wins, best times, win streaks for each game variant
- Game preferences - Card style selection, draw mode settings, sound preferences
- Game state - Current game in progress, move history for undo functionality
- Initial game deals - Saved for restart functionality
Important: This data is stored locally in your browser's localStorage and is not transmitted to any server.
With an Account (Cloud Storage)
If you create an account, we collect and store the following on our servers:
- Account information:
- Username (required, publicly visible on leaderboards)
- PIN (required, stored as a secure hash - we cannot see your actual PIN)
- Email address (optional, used for account recovery)
- Country code (optional, displayed as a flag on leaderboards)
- Gameplay data:
- Game statistics (games played, wins, best times, streaks)
- Leaderboard entries (scores, times, move counts)
- Achievement progress and unlocked achievements
- Level progression and XP earned
- Game event history (individual game results for statistics)
- Preferences: Card styles, game options, and other settings synced across devices
- Technical data: Session tokens, last login time, sync timestamps
Anonymous Usage Statistics
We collect anonymous, aggregated gameplay statistics to improve our games and provide interesting insights to players. This includes:
- Overall win rates across all players
- Average game completion times
- Popular game variants and difficulty levels
- General gameplay patterns
This data is fully anonymized and cannot be used to identify individual players. You can opt out of anonymous analytics at any time through the game settings.
Behavioral Analytics (Microsoft Clarity)
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how players interact with our games. Clarity records anonymized session replays and aggregate behavior — for example, where players click, scroll, hover, or get stuck — so we can spot usability issues and improve the experience.
Clarity is configured to:
- Mask text input and personal content before recording
- Collect no information that identifies you as an individual
- Honor your browser's "Do Not Track" signal — no data is sent if DNT is enabled
- Honor our in-game opt-out — disabling anonymous analytics in the Privacy tab of game settings also disables Clarity
Data collected by Clarity is processed by Microsoft Corporation under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can review Microsoft's documentation at the Clarity cookie list.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic and understand how players find and use the site. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect pseudonymous identifiers and usage data (such as pages viewed, games played, and approximate location). This helps us improve the games and, together with our advertising partner, support the free operation of the site.
We operate Google Analytics with Consent Mode: in regions that require it (such as the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), analytics and advertising cookies are only set after you consent through the consent banner. You can also disable analytics at any time through the Privacy tab in game settings, and we honor your browser's "Do Not Track" signal. Data collected is processed by Google under the Google Privacy Policy; you can control ad personalization in your Google Ad Settings.

Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Cloudflare: Hosting, content delivery, and DDoS protection
- Cloudflare D1: Database storage for account and game data
- Cloudflare Web Analytics: Privacy-friendly, cookieless pageview measurement
- Microsoft Clarity: Anonymized behavioral analytics (heatmaps and session replays) to help us improve usability. Honors Do Not Track and our in-game opt-out — see the section above for details.
- Google Analytics 4: Traffic and usage measurement — see the Google Analytics section above. Runs under Consent Mode and respects the in-game opt-out and Do Not Track.
- Google AdSense: We display non-intrusive ads to support the free operation of our games. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and personalize ads and to limit how often you see them. Ads are clearly labeled and will never interfere with gameplay. You can control ad personalization through the consent banner, your Google Ad Settings, or your browser settings.
We do not:
- Use social media tracking pixels
- Sell your personal data to third parties
Cookies
TrySolitaire uses the following types of cookies and storage:
- Essential (localStorage): For game data, preferences, and session tokens for authentication (if logged in). These are required for the site to function.
- Analytics cookies (Microsoft Clarity & Google Analytics): Clarity sets a small number of first-party cookies (such as
_clck and _clsk), and Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to recognize returning sessions and measure usage. These are not set if you have enabled "Do Not Track," opted out of analytics in the Privacy tab, or declined consent where consent is required.
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense): Google and its partners may set cookies to serve and personalize ads and to limit the number of times you see an ad. Where consent is required (such as in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland) these are only set after you consent. You can manage personalized advertising through the consent banner, your Google Ad Settings, or your browser settings.
Children's Privacy
Our games are suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Account creation is optional and requires only a username and PIN. We recommend parents supervise their children's use of online features.
