Play Raw Prawn Solitaire Online — Australian Patience With Open Spaces
Raw Prawn is Australian Patience with one rule loosened. Seven columns of four are dealt face up; any face-up card may be moved together with every card above it — Yukon's move — and columns build down in suit. A stock of twenty-four turns one card at a time to a waste, whose top card is in play, with no redeal. The change: any card may fill an empty column, where Australian Patience allows only a king. Four foundations build up from the ace; bank all 52 to win.
Setup
Shuffle one deck. Deal seven columns of four cards, all face up. The remaining twenty-four cards form the stock, face down; the waste and the four foundations start empty.
Rules
- Foundations build up in suit from ace to king.
- Building: a card goes only on the card one rank higher of the same suit.
- The Yukon move: any face-up card may be moved, carrying every card above it whether or not they are in sequence.
- Spaces take any card — from a column or from the waste.
- Stock: click to turn one card to the waste. The waste's top card may be played to a column or a foundation.
- No redeal. When the stock is empty it stays empty.
- Win when all four foundations are complete.
Strategy
Everything is in view except the stock, and the stock comes round once. The game is won in the tableau before the stock is spent, and the open spaces are what make that possible.
- Empty a column early. Four open cards is a short column. Any card may take the space, so a cleared column is a universal parking place — the best resource on the board.
- Carry tails to free hosts. Yukon's move lets you lift any face-up card with everything on it. A host buried under three cards is one move away.
- Play the stock late. Each card turned goes onto the waste, and only the top of the waste is in play. Exhaust the tableau before you turn.
- Read the waste before you turn. If the waste's top card has a host, play it; the card beneath it may be the one you need.
- One host per card. Building in suit means a seven of clubs waits for the eight of clubs and nothing else. Find the host before you move.
- Bank at once. A banked card never blocks a host of another suit here; send aces and twos up as they show.

Raw Prawn is Australian Patience's sibling with the spaces opened to any card, and the first of the family's waste-stock line: Yukon's move on an open staircase fed by Klondike's stock. Bim Bom and Outback Patience carry the same stock onto two decks.
