Easy Sudoku is the level for calm, steady solving. Each puzzle starts with 36 to 40 numbers, and two simple moves can finish it. You never need to guess. Play free in your browser, with no download.
Goal: fill the grid so that every row, column and 3×3 box holds the numbers 1 to 9 once. The full rules are on the main Sudoku page.
Every easy puzzle here falls to two moves, both called singles:
The game tests each puzzle with a solver before you see it. It keeps a puzzle only when singles alone can finish it.
| Move | What you look for | Needed at Easy? |
|---|---|---|
| Naked single | A cell where only one number fits | Yes |
| Hidden single | A number with only one possible cell | Yes |
| Pairs and box-line moves | Patterns that rule out candidates | No, they start at Hard |
You get notes, undo and redo, Hint and Validate. Hint fills in the correct number in the cell you select. Validate marks wrong numbers in red, and mistakes only count when you use it. Easy, Hard and Evil each have a daily puzzle, the same for every player that day. Install the game as an app from your browser menu to play without internet.

Each easy puzzle here starts with 36 to 40 numbers already filled in, which leaves 41 to 45 cells for you. The count is only part of it. The game also checks that singles alone can finish each puzzle. Beginner puzzles give 42 to 46 clues, and Hard gives 28 to 32.
Yes. Every easy puzzle has exactly one solution, and the game tests it with a solver before you see it. The solver must finish the grid with naked and hidden singles only. If every number you placed is correct, there is always a single somewhere on the grid.
Beginner puzzles start with 42 to 46 clues and need only naked singles, where a cell has one possible number. Master Sudo, the in-game guide, explains each step. Easy puzzles give 36 to 40 clues and add hidden singles, where a number has one possible cell. Easy has no guide.
Plan on about 5 to 10 minutes once scanning feels natural. Your first few puzzles may take longer, and that is normal. The game keeps statistics for each level, so you can see your progress as the singles start to jump out at you.
Move up when you finish easy puzzles without hints and without getting stuck. Hard puzzles start with 28 to 32 clues and need pairs: two cells in a row, column or box that share the same two candidates. Learn pairs with notes on, and keep Easy for relaxed days.
