Play Double Blue Moon Solitaire Online — Blue Moon With Two Decks

Double Blue Moon is Blue Moon at twice the width. Two decks are dealt face up into eight rows of fourteen, the eight aces are moved to the left end of each row, and the eight gaps they leave are the whole game. A gap takes the card of the same suit one rank higher than the card to its left. When no move remains you may reshuffle the loose cards twice. Win by making every row read ace to king in one suit.

Setup

Shuffle two decks and deal all 104 cards face up into eight rows, leaving the first slot of each row empty. Then move each ace into a leftmost slot, one per row. The eight slots the aces came from are your opening gaps.

Rules

Strategy

Two decks make Double Blue Moon more forgiving than it looks. Every card has a twin, so a run blocked by a buried card can often continue with the other copy, and two rows share each suit. The cost is a board of 112 slots that must be read row by row.

Where It Sits in the Gaps Family

Double Blue Moon is the two-deck member of the Blue Moon line on the Gaps engine: the same aces-to-the-left opening and same-suit rule as Blue Moon, over eight rows. Paganini II is the same board with the aces left in play and no redeal; Double Montana removes the aces instead.
