Play Westhaven Solitaire Online — Westcliff With a Row-Dealing Stock

Westhaven is Westcliff whose stock deals rows. One deck is dealt into ten columns of three, the top card of each face up. Columns build down in alternating colours and a packed run moves as a unit; any card or run fills a space. The stock holds twenty-two cards and deals one to every column per click. Four foundations build up in suit from the ace. Bank all 52 to win.

Setup

Deal three cards to each of ten columns, the top one face up. The remaining twenty-two cards form the stock: two full rows and a last row of two.

Rules

Strategy

Twenty hidden cards and a short stock make Westhaven quick and forgiving. The stock's three rows cover every column, so the aim is to have the columns sorted low-card-up before each deal, and to spend the empty columns on runs that free hidden cards.

Every game in this line runs on one clock: the stock. It never reshuffles and never comes back, so the number of rows left is the number of times the board can change on its own. Deal a row to reach a card you need only when no move can reach it, and before each deal read the tops of the columns, because those are the cards the row will bury. The hint button names a legal move; when it names the stock, nothing else is left.

Where It Sits in the Gypsy Line

Westhaven is Westcliff's board with Gypsy's stock: where Westcliff turns cards to a waste, Westhaven deals a row. It is the line's one-deck member on the Yukon engine.
