How is Indefatigable different from Cruel?

Three rules. Columns build up or down in suit instead of only down; any card may fill an empty column instead of nothing; and there are two redeals instead of unlimited ones. The founded aces, the twelve columns of four and single-card play are Cruel’s.

How does the redeal work?

The columns are gathered in order into one packet and dealt back four to a column without shuffling. You may do this twice in a game.

Can I move a run of cards together?

No. Indefatigable moves one card at a time, as Cruel does; only the build direction and the spaces are relaxed.

What can go on an empty column?

Any card. That is the rule that makes single-card play workable here.

When is the game lost?

When no move remains and either both redeals are spent or a redeal would reproduce the board exactly.

Indefatigable is Cruel with a two-way build and a limit on the redeals. The four aces start on the foundations and forty-eight cards are dealt face up into twelve columns of four. Columns build up or down in suit, one card at a time, and an empty column takes any card. When stuck, the columns are gathered and redealt four to a column without shuffling — twice in a game. Bank all 52 to win.

Setup

Shuffle one deck and place the four aces on the foundations. Deal the remaining forty-eight cards face up into twelve columns of four. The redeal pile shows two redeals.

Rules

Foundations build up in suit from the ace.
Tableau builds up or down by one in the same suit: the seven of clubs on the six or the eight of clubs.
One card at a time. Runs do not travel.
Spaces take any card.
The redeal: when you are stuck, click the redeal pile. The columns are gathered in order, the first column's cards first, and dealt back four to a column without shuffling; columns at the end may be left empty.
Two redeals. After the second the board is what it is.
Win when all four foundations are complete.

Strategy

Two-way building gives every card two hosts in its suit, and open spaces give the single-card play somewhere to go — Indefatigable is the friendliest board in the Cruel line. Its two redeals are the pressure: spend them only when the board has nothing left to give.

Bank first. Every foundation already holds its ace; send twos and threes up the moment they surface.
Empty a column and keep it. A space takes any card here, so a cleared column is a hinge for single-card play; do not fill it carelessly.
Build toward the foundation. Both directions are legal, but a column running down in suit feeds its foundation in order; a column running up has to be unwound.
Exhaust the board before a redeal. A redeal costs one of two, and it changes only what the column counts allow. Make every move first.
Unbalance before you redeal. Twelve columns of four come back unchanged; leave a column of five beside one of three.
Count the next deal. Walk the columns in order and count in fours to see which cards will top the columns after the redeal.

Indefatigable is a Cruel-line member that keeps single-card play but opens the build both ways and the spaces to any card, with two redeals rather than unlimited ones. Relaxed Cruel and Ripple Fan move runs with unlimited redeals; Perseverance moves runs with two redeals picked up in reverse.
