Storehouse is Canfield with the one thing that makes Canfield unpredictable taken away. Instead of the deal turning a card and announcing that this board runs from, say, the nines, the four twos are lifted out before play and placed as the foundations. You know from the first click that everything runs 2, 3, 4 ... up past the king and round to the ace. What you pay for that certainty is the building rule: Storehouse builds the tableau down in suit, which is far stricter than Canfield's alternating colours.
Certainty is the whole point — use it. Because the base never changes, you can plan a suit end to end from the first move: you know a three is wanted immediately and an ace is wanted last. That is impossible in Canfield proper, where the opening is spent working out what the deal has decided.
Suit building makes the four columns narrow. A card has exactly one legal host on the whole board. Before you place anything, ask whether the suit it needs is even reachable — with four columns and a locked reserve, most cards have nowhere to go, and that is normal rather than a mistake.
Runs move, so build them deliberately. A packed same-suit staircase is a unit you can relocate. It is the only real leverage the tableau offers, and it is worth going out of your way to assemble one.
Watch the aces. With a base of two, the ace is the LAST card of every suit — thirteenth in line. An ace stuck under a column early is a suit you will not finish, so free them while the board is still shallow.
The Canfield family is built on one idea no other family uses: the deal turns a card, and that card's rank is where all four foundations start, wrapping past the king to the ace.
