Lexington Harp, also called Milligan Yukon, puts the Yukon move rule on the two-deck board of the Harp games. Eight columns are dealt as a staircase of one to eight cards with only the top of each turned, and the other sixty-eight cards wait in a stock that does one thing: on a click it deals one card face up to every column. There is no waste, no redeal and no choice about where those cards go. Any face-up card may be moved with everything on top of it, the tableau builds down in alternating colours, and an empty column takes any card — while it lasts, because the next deal fills it.
Deal as late as you can. Every deal drops eight new cards on top of whatever you have built, and there is no way to take them back except by playing them. Exhaust every move on the board before each click, and think about which columns you would rather not have covered.
A space is a resource you spend, not one you keep. Any card may enter an empty column, but the next deal will fill it whether you used it or not. Open a column, use it to relocate a tail, and get the value out before you deal again.
Uncover the right-hand columns early. The eighth column hides seven cards under one, and every deal buries them one card deeper. Moves that turn cards over on the right are worth the most in the opening.
Twins double the hosts. Two decks mean four black eights for any red seven. When a host is buried, look for its twin before you dig.
Nine deals is the whole clock. When the stock is gone the game is Yukon with two decks: everything is on the table and the rest is sequencing.
Yukon's contribution to patience is a single rule: any face-up card may be moved with everything on top of it. Most of the family has no stock at all; a few members — Queenie, Rushdike, the Chinese games — add a stock that deals a row to every column, which changes the game from a pure sequencing problem into one with a clock. Lexington Harp is the first two-deck member of that line, and the first to take the spaces out of the king's hands: any card may fill one, and the deal will fill it if you do not.
